GIVE THANKS

GIVE THANKS

A girl told me yesterday that God has not been favouring her.  I asked why? And she said she saw her first semester results, and out of 10 courses that she saw she had two 'Fs' and one was in a course she really prepared for. I told her something which am going to tell everyone reading this.

This girl happens to be in two hundred level,  and she also admitted that those two 'Fs' were her first since she started schooling in unizik.
I asked her if all her classmates in secondary school has gotten admission? She laughed and said No, in fact very few from her secondary class where already in the university talk more of being in year two. The other majority are still  trying gain admission.

Then I asked her again "if those people who have stayed at home for two years now is offered an admission on the condition that they will have two carryovers in second year will they take it,  he answer was "why not, they will rush it na". I had to talk to her.

Firstly, She had just two Fs out of 10 courses, forgetting there are people battling with 3, 4, 5, and even extra years. There is a possibility she could have had up to 6 or even 7 carryovers. But she didn't see it as God's faithfulness.
Secondly,  You see, you have to be in school to bother about carryover,  people without admission cannot have carryover,  and you say God has not been good to you,  you think you got the admission because you were the smartest in your set,  or because your father knows the VC?

Thing is, we dwell more on what God hasn't done than the numerous things he has done. Get a pen and paper,  make a list of what God hasn't done,  and behind the paper make another list of what God has done. You will marvel at his mercy. We neglect very little things and concentrate on cumbersome issues.

If we can remove our concentration on how big our problems are and focus it on how big our God is then we will know how small our problems are. That's the way to deal with life's issues.

The Bible says,  "IN all things, give thanks to God" (emphasis on IN). Ever wondered why the Bible didn't say "For all things?..."
Now here is why,  God doesn't want you thanking him for the bad things that happened to you, But rather he wants you thanking him IN them.  Are you confused? Listen!!!
Don't say "Dear Lord I thank you for these Carryovers" instead say "Dear Lord,  despite these carryovers,  I still thank you".
Don't say "God I thank you for the death of my aunty" but say "God,  despite the death of my aunty,  I thank you"
It's IN all things,  not for all things.

I just hope you get it,  The more you focus on negative energy, negative things will always come around. But the more you focus on the positive side, the positivity comes alive in you.

E go be ✌
