TALES BY MOONLIGHT (EPISODE 1)

So I woke up by exactly 1:30 am, with this kind of headache that could only be caused by a hangover, took a quick look round the room, SLIMSHADY is lying on the same bed where I got up from cuddling ABIGAL, a mutual friend of ours. MALLAM DAGOGO is lying down on a smaller mattress adjacent to the bed and using the bed as his pillow, he wasn't sleeping. He was forecasting teams and matches for a bet he wanted to place
today. My sound system was on and was playing random music ranging from blues to reggae to dance hall. I quickly went straight into the kitchen made myself a glass of milk, drank it and suddenly I started remembering how the previous day had ended.... It was a sunday and non of us went to church, we had stayed home all day gisting and drinking everything we could find, from juice to vodka to red wine and following it up with a kind of delicious rice I had cooked earlier that morning. Suddenly we decided to go out but since Awka was dry cos students where on long vacation, we had a problem selecting where to hangout till slimshady suggested Jo'burg hotel. It sounded like a very good idea since it was far from my house and was located in a hidden place. We all took our bath and dressed up. I picked up my car key and we got going. First stop, at a UBA bank and each of my friends withdrew 10k each, I withdrew 15k cos I needed to fuel the car. Second stop at Arcon filling station at unizik junction, I bought 5k fuel and off we went... After we arrived Jo'burg and got settled, we started placing our orders, I first had 6k fish killed and roasted for me. Slimshady had  ordered roasted meat worth 5k and a bottle of Red label. And mallam dagogo had settled for chicken and some bottles of small stout.... My fish delayed in coming so I had no option than to get a drink and start eating from their meat and chicken respectively. I ordered for some cans of black bullet and started enjoying myself. Soon my fish arrived and I couldn't stop my friends from eating out of it. After few minutes I got a call from my real nigga Eddie, he told me he was in awka and wanted to hang out, I directed him to Jo'burg hotel and in less than 3minutes he was with us, I was very happy to see him, and the noise and hailing of our loud greeting attracted the attention of other people there but we didn't give a rats ass. Eddie quickly got settled and on my permission he ordered for 3 bottles Harp beer and meat to go along with it. I introduced him to the other two guys and eddie being who he is didn't find it hard to mingle and we started having a swell time. I soon discovered I was running low on cash so I excused myself to make a quick trip to the ATM and back. I picked up my car key and off I went. In less than 10minutes I was back only to meet my friends in hot argument with the hotel staff and management, a hotel staff had insulted eddie for making passes at her and while eddie was laughing it off, her "super bar man" boyfriend came to defend her and had guts to push eddie and eddie quickly burst his head open with an empty bottle of harp and that was when I arrived. I tried to calm them down but I couldn't eddie was mad with anger and knowing him very well I knew I couldn't contain his anger till he was done letting it out, so I decided to talk to the hotel manager to see if he would listen to me but he didn't, he had already invited police men and instructed them to take us to the police station. Hell no!! I wasn't going to the police station on a sunday, it means I must pass the night there and talk about bail on monday morning.... NO WAY!!! I wasn't doing that. I flipped, I was mad at everybody. And having had a lot of alcohol which was beginning to take effect at that moment I was no longer listening to anyone, not my friends, not the hotel manager and definitely not the police men, slimshady and mallam dagogo didn't have the kinda heart I and eddie had, so they just resulted to peace talk which wasn't actually heading anywhere. One of the sales girls reminded me that my friends had eaten 2 extra fish which we hadn't paid for, I quickly paid for them cos I didn't want anyone interrupting my anger. It was all screaming and shouting till I heard a gunshot, my eye clear, my mind come dey am... The police men had released a bullet in the air prolly to calm us down. Eddie wasn't the kind of person a gunshot will scare or calm down, but that day, it did. We all submitted to the police and they brought us outside to the parking lot. I told them I had to come in my car, so they had to split us... I and mallam dagogo was in my car with two police men, while eddie and slimshady was in the police van. I had driven about 5mins when I suddenly realized that the man sitting in front of the car with me had a walkie talkie and a pistol and in my understanding of the nigerian police, the man with a pistol and a walkie talkie was the boss. I engaged him in a convo, which was geared towards not getting to the police station. I told him we could bail our selves right there and then... He told me to pay 30k, I told him I had 10k he said I should collect money from my friends, I told him they didn't have and he was like "una no get money but una chop 3 big fish plus the meat and drinks wey dey ontop am?" I fought hard to hold back my laughter. Long story short, we agreeed on 15k, and we pulled over. The police van behind us quickly pulled over too, that was wen I notice eddie was the only one who was cuffed... Maybe they where scared of him or maybe cos he was the one who broke someone's head with a bottle. I gave the oga 15k and they let all of us go. We all got back into my car and by now it was 9:23 pm and we all where hungry, we decided to look around for an open shop and after driving few blocks, we found an indomie spot. We ate well prepared indomie and washed it with bottles of lacasera. Then we headed home. First I had to go drop eddie at udoka estate where he was staying with a friend, then we headed to my house. I was very tipsy and sleepy, I wasn't seeing where I was going, suddenly slimshady noticed abigal standing along the road and asked me to stop. How he was able to spot her, I couldn't explain but thank God we saw her. She said she was coming from cofi lounge where she went to have fun with some of her friends and they ended up going home with different men and leaving her. We got home by 10:57 and she helped fix a cold water bath for each of us. We freshened up and blacked out like NEPA light. I had told eddie I was coming to pick him the next day for another outing and I knew exactly where we were gonna go......... COFI LOUNGE.
